NEBOSH Process Safety Management
Process Safety Management (PSM) is a disciplined framework for managing the integrity of operating systems and processes that handle hazardous substances. The goal of PSM is to prevent unwanted releases of hazardous chemicals, especially into locations that could expose employees and others to serious hazards.
Being certified by NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) means that the individual has successfully completed a recognized training and assessment program that covers key elements of process safety, such as:
- Risk assessment and hazard identification
- Process hazard analysis (PHA)
- Safe operating procedures
- Mechanical integrity of equipment
- Emergency response planning
- Compliance with safety standards and regulations
NEBOSH certification is internationally respected and indicates that the holder has a strong understanding of managing chemical and process-related risks in industries such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, manufacturing, and more.
